Lai Zhigang's landscape paintings are highly distinctive, and he is a very diligent and refined painter. His landscape paintings inherit the artistic spirit of Mr. Li Keran, using thick ink and vibrant colors to achieve great depth. As Mr. Li Keran said, to depict the mountains and rivers of the motherland, large works are painted with grandeur and magnificence, while small works are very vivid.
Lai Zhigang's landscape paintings are very grand, featuring majestic mountains and rivers, with very abundant cloud formations. They are quite different from traditional landscape paintings. In traditional landscape paintings, clouds are sometimes depicted with simple lines, but the clouds painted by Lai Zhigang are very lively and dynamic. Lai Zhigangartistic characteristics include inheriting the traditions of Li Keran's landscape paintings while also having his own unique features. Everyone brings something new to the development of landscape painting, even if it is just a little bit, and step by step, it moves forward. I think this spirit of exploration and creativity is very valuable.

The artistic conception and atmosphere in Lai Zhigangink wash landscape paintings are very profound, and the overall grandeur is exceptional. In this regard, he is different from others. Looking at his paintings today, I feel that he uses water very well. Perhaps because he grew up in Anhui, he has a deeper understanding of the natural scenery of southern landscapes. His handling of clouds is superb, and the lively depiction of clouds represents a new development in landscape painting. Ancient artists never painted clouds in this way. Many of them used simple lines to depict clouds. In this aspect, Lai Zhigang has his own unique exploration and creativity.
