Introduction
Lai Zhigang has loved drawing since childhood and studied Chinese landscape painting systematically under the guidance of masters Jia Youfu and Li Xiaoke. Over 40 years of creative activity, he has deeply researched the traditional painting technique of accumulated ink, absorbing the rich artistic skills and strengths from masters like Mi Fu, Gong Xian, Huang Binhong, and Li Keran, integrating ancient and modern techniques to establish his unique painting style characterized by "grandeur, momentum, and thickness."
Wang Wei of the Tang Dynasty wrote at the beginning of his "Secrets of Landscape Painting": "In painting, ink is the most superior. It follows the natural laws and achieves the wonders of creation." Chinese ink landscape painting is said to have originated in the Tang Dynasty, gradually matured in the Five Dynasties, and greatly developed in the Song and Yuan Dynasties.
