"Lai Zhigang Accumulated Ink Landscape Exhibition" Debuts in Taiwan

Mr. Lai Zhigang visited Taiwan in 2017 and 2018 for creative work and stayed for a while. During his stay, he created a series of new ink paintings themed around Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Yushan, and Taroko. This first exhibition of Lai Zhigang in Taiwan will feature over 50 works, including ink paintings and sketches. Through this exhibition, we hope that the people of Taiwan will get to know Mr. Lai Zhigang and that his works displayed at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will foster deeper exchanges and resonance.

About
Lai Zhigang, also known as Yunzen, is a modern Chinese ink wash landscape artist. He was born in 1963 in Bengbu, Anhui Province, and is a second-generation successor of Li Keran and a member of the China Artists Association. At the age of 12, he studied under the local painter Ding Chucai. In 2001, he enrolled in the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2002, he was admitted to the graduate class of the “Jia Youfu Studio” at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he followed the academy’s guidance system for copying, sketching, and creating, earning support and high praise from Jia Youfu. In 2005, he joined the “Li Xiaoke Art Studio” at the Beijing Painting Academy, and based on the grand, powerful, and profound landscape painting style inherited from the Li family, he pioneered a new style of ink wash landscape painting.
